Nopia (Mino) is a kind of cake special from Banyumas, Central Java, Indonesia. Nopia is usually called mino as the abbreviation of mini nopia. It means that mino is a nopia that has a small size (mini). This cake has a unique shape like an egg. That is why sometimes this cake is called gecko’ egg. The color is white with the delicious filling that is red sugar. But nowadays, the fillings are variety such as chocolate etc. Here I want to share how to make mino (mini nopia) special from Banyumas.

Materials:
1. For the Filling
l 800 gram low protein wheat
l 1 kg red sugar or Javanese sugar, slice it
l 100 gram chocolate powder
l 65 gram sweet condensed milk
l 33 gram margarine
l 150 gram water
l Sufficient frying Oil
1. For the Skin
l 11/2 kg medium fat wheat
l 375 gram granulated sugar
l Sufficient water
l Sufficient vanilla
l Sufficient frying oil
Steps:
1. Firstly, make the filling by slicing or mashing the red sugar into the small size or soft texture.
2. Secondly, mix the red sugar that has been mashed with the wheat and others filling materials.
Stirring evenly in order that all the material are mixed. Then, let it for awhile.
3. Basting the filling dough with oil and let it for awhile.
4. Then, to make the skin, mix all the skin materials till all is mixed and be spread evenly. Let it for
awhile.
5. After that, set it into 10 gram per dough. Let it for 10 minutes.
6. Make the dough is flat, then fill it with the filling that has been made before. Form it into the truly
rounded. Make sure that the round is truly close.
7. After all is ready, put it on the gun metal. Heat the oven with a low temperature and put the dough
for 20-25 minutes (traditionally it is stuck on the traditional stove wall (read: tungku) ).
8. Finally, take the mino and put it on the serving plate.
9. Mino is ready to be served.
