How to Make Lanting Special from Banyumas

Lanting is a kind of snack that you can easily find in Java, especially Central Java. The main ingredient of Lanting is Cassava. It has unique shape that is like number 8 (number eight shape), but there is also circle shape. There is an original flavor, but nowadays there are variety of flavors and colors. Besides, Lanting is also identically from Kebumen. Here I want to share you how to make Lanting special from Banyumas.

Materials:
a. 1/2 kg of Cassava
b. 3 - 4 cloves of Garlic
c. 1/4 tablespoon of Coriander
d. Sufficient salt
e. Sufficient frying oil
f. Flavor (spicy or sweet) depend on our taste

Steps:
1. Firstly, peel up the cassava’s skin and wash it until truly clean.
2. Secondly, steam the cassava until the texture is tender, take and drain it.  
3. Then, mash the garlic, coriander, and salt until nicely delicate.
4. After that, mash the cassava until the texture is really tender, then add the spices that has been mashed before. Mix and knead it until all is evenly mixed.
5. After all is nicely kneaded, form it into a small eight shape (see: 8) for each, and dry it until nicely dried.
6. After all is ready, fry it until the color turns into brownish.
7. Take it and dry it. Add the flavor you want, can be original, spicy, or sweet depend on your taste.  
8. Finally, Lanting special from Banyumas is ready to serve.
