Sindoro in Memory - My Amazing Moment in Sindoro Mountain

My Amazing Moment in Sindoro Mountain
Last week, my amazing moment was started. My friends and I hiked Sindoro Mountain. The peak reaches 3.136 meters above sea level located in Temanggung, Central Java. We started our trip at 8 p.m. from our boarding house. Firstly, we had to go through 2 hours trip before arriving at my friends’ house in Temanggung. We lodged in my friend’s house overnight. At 10 a.m. we continued our trip and arrived on the base camp at 2 p.m. Because the rain started pouring down, we decided to rest for a while before the real hiking was done. At 3.30 p.m. we started to hike under the light drizzle.
Through the non-stop drizzle, we struggled hard to get to the Peak of Sindoro Mountain. The journey was started by passing the green and fresh tea plantation area. The Mountain’s scenery could not be fully enjoyed since it was covered by a rather soupy fog. We walked slowly while exhaling the fresh air. Imagine how beautiful the mountain that it made my spirit soared high to the sky. In the middle of tea plantation area, we found a man-made building like a hut. Soon after that we decided to take a rest for a while to replenish our energy before going further up. Along the way, we met with other hikers. Among them there were also those who went down from the mountain.

After a while, we continued our trip. The further we went, the track became more challenging for me. Even the rain got harder to the point that we had to wear our raincoat that we had prepared before. The trip was getting harder for me because of the slippery track, and I had to be very careful. After a while, the terrain changed into thick jungle. The scene was so different. I did not realize that we have walked up for three hours straight, and it was getting dark. It was 6 p.m., so we turned our flashlight on. The trip was more frightening because it was really dark. Just imagined what we were doing at that evening marched out through the jungle, and it was raining. But, we were optimistic that something great awaiting ahead to erase all of our fatigue.
The scene was quieter, just the sound of drizzling that accompanied our tiring trip. We had got almost a half of our trip, and we took rest again while staring at the town. It was beautiful view. We could see a town with sparkling light from the building and the road. But we could not see the stars in the sky because it was cloudy night. But it was not a problem; we still could enjoy the night view by staring the beautiful view stretched before our eyes.
It was 7.30 p.m., and the drizzle stopped. We continued our trip again. While staring up the mountain, we could see other lights from the camps of other hikers. It awoke our spirit to get the camping area quickly. At 8 p.m. we got to the camping area and built a tent. We took a rest, cleaned up our body, ate some foods, and then enjoyed the night while having conversation of what happened during the hiking. Finally, we slept soundly because we were tired.

In the morning we continued our trip at 5.15 a.m. before sunrise. I wanted to see sunrise, but it was too late because the sun had rose before we arrived to the peak. But it was not a big problem. We continued to go to the peak of Sindoro. It was surprising me that near the peak there were many camps. Maybe they hiked last night when we slept. Finally, I got the peak at 8 a.m. and the sun was high, but it was alright because I still could enjoy the beautiful view around the peak. It was wonderful and amazing view. It was a largest peak that I had ever seen. There is a large lake, but the water was a few. There is a wide place like a field, with a small hilly around there. The fresh air, the quiet place, and a peace scene made me felt the majesty of the Good. I could not see how high I was been, but obviously it was a high place. I could see other mountains like Sumbing, Perahu, Merapi, Selamet, and many hills. I felt like in the sky because there was fog around me. My fatigue was fully paid by this beautiful, amazing, and wonderful place. If we feel deeply how peace we are, maybe we would not go down of the peak. We want to stay there forever and after.

We have to be proud because in Indonesia there many mountains to be hiked and from this we can feel the majesty of Good by learning from nature.
