Thomas Alva Edison

The most influence person in the world
Thomas Alva Edison

Thomas Alva Edison is a great inventor in the world and gives big contribution, such as the first electric light inventor. He was born in Milan, Ohio on February 11th 1847. In 1854 his parent moved to Port Huron, Michigan. He grew up there. When he was child, he just studied for 3 month because his teacher said that he cannot study in school. So his mother taught him by herself. Although he did not study in school, he showed a curiosity about something. He did dissection with animal and made a small laboratory under his house. A year later, he was success made a telegraph. Because he needed a big cost to do experiment, in 12 years old he sold newspaper and candy in the train that operated in Port Huron city and Detroit. He also made a small laboratory in a train railway coach and he did experiment and read some literatures in his spare time.
In 1861, there was a war between south and north countries. He took an advantage of it by buying an old printing machine. Then he made a weekly herald printing newspaper. This was the first newspaper in train. And it could create 400 per day. In 1868 he got a job as a telegraph operator in Boston. Every his spare time was done to do experiment about technical. In this year he invented the intercom electric system. Thomas Alva Edison obtained the patent right for the first time for electric vote recorder, but it was not too interesting. Then he developed the more commercial invention, stock ticker. He sold it to the company and get 40000 dollar. This profit was used to build a company and laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey. In this laboratory he invented many inventions that changed life style of several people in the world.

Over all there are 1.039 patent right inventions such as: telegraph, electric pen, battery, microphone, carbon telephone transmitter, and picture projector, etc. In 1920s, his health was getting bad. He died on October 18th 1931 in his 84 years old.

Quotes:
”How many people give up, whereas only need some step more to reach the success”
“I am sure will be success because I am running out of fail experiment”
“I have not failed. I have just found 10.000 ways that won’t work”
“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and look like work”
“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up”
“Genius in one percent inspiration and ninety percent perspiration”

After reading this Thomas Alva Edison’s biography, I get much of new knowledge. I think this writing is very good to be read because we can get much knowledge and motivation. On this writing we can find that something impossible can be possible. I believe that something impossible can come true because of the strong will and followed by a real action. Ignoring others twaddle word that want to ruin our belief and always doing our best.
We have to follow the way Thomas Alva Edison is. Although he fails in many times, he always struggle to prove something great because he believes of his ability. We also can take value that to be success we cannot only wait, but always move and try a variety of ways. I do agree with Thomas word that we will not reach the success before we run out of failure because to be success only need some step before giving up. To be a great person, there must be a great struggle.

The Success Principles Book

The Success Principles Book
How You get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be
By Jack Canfileld

www.Amazon.com
This is not a complete book by Jack Canfield. This is the simple one, but the content is very motivational. The content of this book is Fundamentals of Success that has 2 sub topics, these are: Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life and Be Clear Why You’re Here. This a motivation book to be success by having principles. The first sub topic is opened by very motivational quotes, “You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself” by Jim Rohn, America’s foremost business philosopher. On this book also be mentioned that “There is only one person responsible for the quality of the life you live, that person is you.” This is very good word because if we do not take the responsible of ourselves, who else? If you want to be successful, you have to take 100% responsibility for everything that you experience in your life. This includes the level of your achievements, the results you produce, the quality of your relationships, the state of your health and physical fitness, your income, your debts, your feelings everything! This is not easy. In fact, most of us have been conditioned to blame something outside of ourselves for the parts of our life we don’t like. We blame our parents, our bosses, our friends, our coworkers, our spouse, the weather, the economy, the government, our astrological chart, our lack of money, anyone or anything we can pin the blame on. We never want to look at where the real problem is ourselves.
There is a wonderful story told about a man who is out walking one night and comes upon another man down on his knees looking for something under a street lamp. The passerby inquires as to what the other man is looking for. He answers that he is looking for his lost key. The passerby offers to help and gets down on his knees and helps him search for the key. After an hour of fruitless searching, he says, “We’ve looked everywhere for it and we haven’t found it. Are you sure that you lost it here?”The other man replies, “No, I lost it in my house, but there is more light out here under the street lamp”. It is time to stop looking outside yourself for the answers to why you haven’t created the life and results you want, for it is you who creates the quality of the life you lead and the results you produce. You, no one else! To achieve major success in life, to achieve those things that are most important to you, you must assume 100% responsibility for your life. Nothing less will do.
You see, without a purpose in life, it’s easy to get sidetracked on your life’s journey. It’s easy to wander and drift, accomplishing little. But with a purpose, everything in life seems to fall into place. To be “on purpose” means you’re doing what you love to do, doing what you’re good at, and accomplishing what’s important to you. When you are truly and passionately on purpose, the people, resources, and opportunities you need naturally gravitate toward you. The world benefits, too, because when you act in alignment with your true life purpose, which may at first glance seem selfish, all of your actions automatically serve others.

There are some quotes, “Ninety-nine percent of all failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses” By George Washington Carver, Chemist who discovered over 325 uses for the peanut. “All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you” By Wayne Dyer, Coauthor of How to Get What You Really, Really, Really, Really Want. “The man who complains about the way the ball bounces is likely the one who dropped it” By Lou Holtz, The only coach in NCAA history to lead six different college teams to postseason bowl games, and winner of a national championship and “coach of the year” honors; now an ESPN football analyst. “It is the soul’s duty to be loyal to its own desires. It must abandon itself to its master passion” By Dame Rebecca West, Bestselling author.
After reading this book, I think this is a very good book. The content of this is very interesting. There are motivational story, motivational quotes, and the formula of 100% responsibility that we can learn about it. There are many words that will make us realize that we must not blame other, blame someone, time, event, something or whatever that is. We just need to realize that only us who need to change because we cannot change circumstance or time. We just need to response the event that happen surrounding us positively. By positively response in every event, the events also will response us positively. It is a good book to be read because it can uplift your mind in thinking positively and fire our spirit in passing this life enjoyably.
