Descriptive text adalah sebuah teks dalab Bahasa Inggris untuk menggambarkan sesuatu, bisa berupa orang, hewan, benda, atau tempat. Tujuan deskriptif teks adalah agar para pendengar atau pembaca bisa membayangkan apa yang kita deskripsikan. Untuk membuat Descriptive Text dalam Bahasa Inggris kita bisa menggunakan struktur:
1. Identification (pengenalan objek) berupa nama, asal dan jenis.
2. Description (deskripsi) berupa physical appearance, food, types, habit, facilities, etc.
Untuk memudahkan dalam membuat deskriptif teks, sebaiknya kita membuat draft atau konsepnya terlebih dahulu. Draft atau konsep ini digunakan agar kita mudah menentukan isi setiap paragraph. Sehingga deskriptif teks akan lebih runtut dan terstruktur.

Origin and name
I have a cat. She is Persian cat. Her name is Popo. Popo is female. This cat is given by my mother as a gift of my birthday.

Popo is so cute. She has smooth fur. The colors of the fur are white and black. She has white cute paws. The claws are short and tidy because I always take care of it. I usually play her tail because of its cuteness. The tail has so smooth fur. Popo has brown eyes and white whiskers.
Food
Popo likes eating cat’s food. But sometimes Popo eats meat, fish, and sometimes grass when she plays in the yard.
Habit
Popo likes playing in the yard with me. She always wags her tail for some signals such as hungry, satisfied, worry, etc. Popo always behaves that can refresh my day.
Impression
I really love Popo. She is not only my pet, but she is my best companion. Her behavior always makes my day.
